The J-School Program
J-School is a 4-week interactive on-demand video-based training program that guides actors how to get an agent, and how to secure auditions.
J-School trainings are released in weekly modules with easy-to-follow videos, done-for-you templates, and Fun Sheets. All of the training is online inside a private, J‑School member-only site.
As a bonus, J‑School also includes interactive components like “Office Hours” where Jackie answers questions and offers strategic advice to ensure that our members take consistent action and receive the highest value from their investment.
Plus, you’re a J‑Schooler for life. You can retake the program for free each year, for as long as the program exists.
Everything is Online: No Travel Required
The entire program is based online so you can participate from home.
All course materials, including streaming videos, Fun Sheets (aka growth assignments) and additional resources are within our online member portal.
How much time will I need?
Since you get lifetime access, go through the materials each week as they're released in the student portal, or you can slow things down and work on your own schedule.
Naturally, the more focus and dedication you put into J-School, the more you’ll get out of it. But if you’re not able to carve out that much time at first, don’t worry. Many of our students go through the program as best they can, pause and return to it as their schedule allows.
If you’re working a full-time job, several part-time jobs, getting married, having a baby, or navigating big life events during the 4-week program, don’t worry. You can revisit and review the training materials any time.
Remember that becoming a professional working actor isn't a 4-week, linear event.

Based on my top-selling workshop as a casting director, I created a one-of-a-kind online course to guide actors on securing auditions. Here’s our exact curriculum so you can make sure the program is right for you:
Module 1 – Tools you need to secure auditions
Competition is huge in this business
Every remarkable actor starts somewhere. In this module, you’ll understand:
- all the tools you need as an actor
- how the right tools can help you secure an audition
- how the wrong tools can hinder you from securing an audition
- what you can do to set yourself apart from the competition, regardless if you have an agent or not
- how to avoid scams
- the nitty-gritty details of the following (from the most important perspective: the casting director) and ways they can get you – and also stop you from getting – an audition:
- Headshots
- Resumes/CVs
- Demo Reels
- Resources that you need to get into LA
We'll also help you understand that acting is a business, and what you can do to look like a "pro" even if you’re just starting. By the end of this module, you will have a rock-solid foundation of what it takes to get an audition.
Module 2 – The audition process
Auditions aren’t optional for actors.
In this module, you’ll learn everything you need to know about the audition process, including:
- on-camera techniques
- essential knowledge into the competitive world of auditioning from a casting director’s perspective
- easy to follow video clips that take you through the entire process, from preparation to the audition
- what you should always do during an audition
- what you shouldn't do during auditions (so many actors make these mistakes and lose opportunities!)
- what to wear during an audition
- recovering from mistakes
- audition etiquette
- audition lingo
No matter what your skill level is, by the end of this module, you’ll understand how to audition, potentially book more jobs and make a fan of casting directors.
Module 3 – How to self-tape
In the wake of COVID-19, you’ll need to understand how to make the best self-tapes.
Most of the time, you’ll need to record yourself. Sometimes, casting directors will want your tape overnight so you’re going to have to self-tape, therefore, every actor needs to know how to self-tape.
In this module, you will develop the skills to:
- understand what a self tape is and how to make one
- make the best possible self-tape in a very competitive industry
- make a self-tape that will stand out
- avoid common mistakes
By the end of this module, you’ll understand how to self-tape, no matter what your skill level is.
Module 4 – How to get a talent agent & how to work with an agent to get auditions
Agents are the lifeblood of any sustainable acting career. Sadly, too many actors have a negative association with agents and get overwhelmed by the opinions of their fellow actor friends.
In this module, you'll understand what agents are looking for when signing actors and how to work with an agent
In this crucial module you’ll learn:
- What a talent agency does
- how to find agents
- how to avoid scams
- what to look for in an agent
- how to pitch to agents
- what questions to ask agents during interviews
- what to look out for in talent agency contracts
- how to communicate effectively with your agent
